想读美国金融专业硕士的学生必看

msf是商科的大热门专业，它的竞争激烈程度可想而知。如何在千军万马的战场中杀出自己的阳关大道，是所有申请者绞尽脑汁思索的问题。毕竟学校名额太少，招生人数有限，就国内985/211学生读金融专业能去前三十的为数不多，除非jhu极个别学校招的人比较多。所以大多数很优秀的学生，都是去了30—50之间的学校。那么金融专业申请到底需要什么样的硬件条件呢？

金融硕士简介

金融硕士（master of science in finance），简称msf，主要为培养金融专业的人才而设立。教学方向包括金融分析，投资管理和公司财务等。商科背景或者数理背景的本科生都可以申请，转专业申请也是可行的。具有较高的数学和计算机能力的同学在申请上会有优势。1-1.5 年制的项目时长，职业性而非学术性的学位，注重实际应用而非理论。

金融硕士的细分方向，主要包括公司金融 corporate finance，财务管理（financial management）， 投资管理（ investment management ）/ 资产管理（ asset management ）以及风险管理（ risk management）。

但并非每所学校的 msf 项目都有分支设置，也并非每个有分支设置msf项目都会涵盖以上所有方向。

就业方向

特别说明

金融硕士专业和金融工程（financial engineering），金融数学（mathematical finance）在课程设置和申请难度上都有很大区别，可千万不要与金融专业混淆。本文只谈ms in finance专业。

另注：普林斯顿和mit虽然也开始msf专业，但是这两个项目被quantnet认定为金融工程专业，即披着msf外衣的financial engineering，录取难度和要求也与金融工程无异，所以也不计的msf的录取统计。

学校综合排名50-100名： （代表学校：佩珀戴因大学，克拉克大学） 录取平均gpa 平均托福 平均gmat 3.32 95.6 660.8 本科院校和背景弹性较大。

数据分析

从数据结果来看，gpa上3.5，托福上100，gmat上700基本上是top名校的标配。如果有个别短板的话，则需要其它方面有超强的实力来弥补。

对于绝大部分同学来说，只要稍加努力，并不难达到gpa上3.0，托福上90，gmat上650的成绩。手握这样的分数应该可以冲击全美前100的金融名校了。

当然统计数据无法体现的一个关键点，就是学生的软实力！金融硕士申请尤其看重学生的实习经历，金融方面的实习是不是丰富？所做的工作是不是专业？都在很大程度上影响着申请结果。甚至有些学校格外喜欢有工作经验的申请者而不是应届本科毕业生，所以如果不了解学校偏好而盲目申请，结果往往会令人失望。
