美国大学面试常见题目

在了解了招生面试目的及类型之后，我们今天为大家带来了上篇最后预告过的面试常见问题与应对技巧，大家一起来看一下吧！

首先我们先来看四个经典案例：

Question 1： Why this college?

在面试过程中，"为什么选择这所学校"是最常见的问题，学生一定要根据自身的情况结合学校的特点来回答。而一般多数学生的答案是："因为排名不错，学校地理位置也不错，所以我选择它。"虽然很多时候这的确是事实，但如果你要申请的是顶尖学校，需要跟实力很强的优秀学生竞争，这样的答案就显得太一般了。而下面这位学生在面试普林斯顿和耶鲁时的不同面试回答就很值得我们学习一番。

AO: Why Princeton？

Applicant: To prepare for my ream, because Princeton cultivates leaers in science an focuses on unergrauate eucation. It provies much financial support for stuents. Stuents have many opportunities to get financial ai.

AO: What can you o for Princeton if amitte？

Applicant: I am talente in Physics. I can contribute my talent in the college of Physics. An I wish to become an amission interviewer like you.

可以看出这个学生在面试Princeton之前并没有做好准备，他在回答为什么选择普林斯顿时给面试官的感觉是非常注重奖学金，而第二个问题说想成为面试官完全是画蛇添足，因为成为面试官和他到普林斯顿学习物理是没有联系的。相比之下，这个学生在耶鲁大学面试的时候，就发挥得不错了。以下是他的答案：

"First of all, base on what I learne about Yale, there are five presients from Yale. I think Yale is a goo place which can help me evelop my leaership. I have been the class monitor for more than two years … Seconly, Yale eicates to integrating science an art. …… I believe that the eucation in Yale will prepare me to be a leaer in a fiel combination of science an art."

在这个回答里，学生对学校做了一点研究，从了解耶鲁培养了不少领袖人物，到学校致力于把科学与艺术有效结合的教育目的，分析自己哪些方面是符合学校培养人才的宗旨的。Why this college这个问题的重点是要了解被面试的学生是否已经对该大学做了很深入地研究，学生在表现他对这个学校充满热情，渴望了解更多的同时，要巧妙地用适当的事例体现出他具有哪些特点对于学校而言是strong match的。选择具体的事例说明你对学校提供的某个Program很感兴趣往往是一个不错的选择。

Question 2： Why your major?

因为美国大学学制设置的特点和专业的选择的自由性，招办人员一般都很清楚地知道，大多数高中生进入大学后，很可能会改变专业。但是，他们仍希望通过这一个问题能看出这个学生是否对自己选择的专业已经有一些基本的认识，也希望通过这个问题使学生还没有进入到学校的时候就已经认真思考过专业的选择。学生在回答这个问题的时候除了能够说出一点对这个专业的认识，最好能够说明自己是怎样喜欢这个专业，希望通过在这个学校学习该专业获得什么样的结果。如果学生在回答"Why this college?"提到了选择该校是因为该校在某专业的教育特别突出，那么，面试官一般就会跳过"Why your major?"这个问题了。

比如有一个申请宾夕法尼亚大数学专业的学生，她的答案是这样的：

"Mathematics is most likely what I will major in. I have got istinction awar in AMC an have receive many honors for Math in national or city level competitions. I love Math because, in my view, it is the basis of business, in which fiel I wish to pursue a master egree in Warton Business School. The person who le me to ecie to take Math as my major is a Math Professor from Penn …… Penn provies the best program in Math an I believe that it woul be a ream place for a person like me, who loves Math an wish to get success in Economics."

Question 3:：What o you o for fun?

名校面试官们普遍认为多数亚裔学生成绩都非常优秀，但课外活动很少，几乎没有什么爱好。即使有些活动学生参加了，也似乎能够看出是为了申请大学而参加的活动或者是学校组织的活动，因为学生提供的课外活动都是非常相似，缺乏个性。他们就是要通过这一问题，想看看学生们真正的本我。他们不仅仅想招收高分学生，他们更看重学生的创造意识,创造能力以及团队精神。面试官希望通过这个问题，了解申请人"在业余的时间，不学习的时候，你喜欢做什么"，其目的是要从中发现这个学生将会为学校的多姿多彩的校园生活贡献什么。面试的学生应该展现出自己真正的爱好，在必要的时候可以出示一些相片或者作品。

回答三步法——why, how, what.

Why o you o it:：一定要是自己的original thought！How i you o it:：what i you fin the most interest uring the process；who i you ask for avice； what i you learn;；were you leaing a team。What is the significance：做好了有什么意义，是否激发了某方面的学术兴趣？What oes that bring to your high school career;；i it help you unerstan a subject better，or to what extent i it help you become a kin of person (回到你开头总结的三个关键词) 。

Question 4：What are your three greatest strengths?

其实这个问题是给你一个机会说明你的与众不同。你的回答应该是尽可能体现出你是有独特思想同时对自己有着清醒认识的人。与别的问题不同，这个问题是绝对不应该出现"I am not sure"这个说法的。你必须能够清楚而有条理地陈述两到三个自身的特点，并且最好能够给出一两个具体事例支持你的说法。

比如一个获得常春藤大学录取的学生是这样回答这个问题的：" My first strength is my compassion an leaership. I have organize a volunteer group an some charity activities. …… My secon strength is my creative thinking. I have participate in China Youth Creative Competition an receive the first prize. An blah blah…"
