At UChicago, you are more than your GPA or test score.Just as there are various ways to solve an equation, interpret a poem, or spike a volleyball, no single approach ensures a successful college application. That being said, mathematics has an order of operations, poems have a historical context, and you probably shouldn’t spike a volleyball with your foot.
Grades and test scores are very important, but we also consider many other factors such as your national system of education, the type of institution you attended, the quality of your achievement, and the suitability of preparation for your proposed program of studies.
Note that standardized testing is one of the many important components in our application review process. Applicants who are not submitting some form of official standardized may be at a competitive disadvantage.
